Saturday's devastating earthquake in Christchurch created a "field day" for the photojournalists, hundreds if not thousands of news pictures are being shot and transmitted around the world to record and show the extend of damages in this disaster.
Yet, the Sunday Star Times on their September 5 edition splashed this huge photo on their FRONT PAGE.
A jack-up picture? There are hundreds of good, story telling NEWS PICTURE and the Sunday Star Times had to resort to a POSED picture to lead a earth shaking news event? ;)
Come on guys, you can do better than that!
Such photo give the photojournalists a bad reputation!
I have been a Picture Editor for a New Zealand paper before and I know there are many "dull" days that you have to use jack-up pictures to fill the pages, but on this day when the earth moved?
What price photojournalism?
My response to the last comment that I should apologise to the photographer.

The photo shows a lack of imagination, and laziness on the part of the photographer.Cast your eyes around guys!Use your resourcefulness and imagination to capture the essence of the effects of the quake. It could be anywhere!,... but it`s not. It`s Christchurch , New-Zealand, and one of our biggest quakes in modern times.
Hey, just wondering when you're going to apologise to the photographer. It wasn't a jack-up at all ... the girl has been quoted as saying she wanted to "play in the earthquake" and the photographer got lucky. If your gonna dish dirt you shld have the grace to apologise
