After reading the release from Canon OSA, one of my friend who is the proud owner of a 5D MkIII was disappointed that the issue is being brushed off so nonchalantly by Canon.
"After specifying the serial numbers of affected cameras, Canon actually admitting there is a problem! Don't you think they should start a RECALL?", he fumed.
And by releasing the affected serial numbers, would that be confirming it is a quality control problem? Did Canon have prior knowledge that the said problem existed after they shipped the cameras?
Do you think Canon should RECALL those affected cameras?
Is Canon PLAYING DOWN the issue?
Canon also just issued firmware version 1.1.2 for the 5D Mark III with fixes for various unrelated bugs.

Hi Martyn..why don't you try the darkness test and see if yours got the same problem? Or you can wait and see what Canon NZ have to say about this. If you ask me, as long as all your shots are ok, I will not worry about it. CY
No I'm not worried, but do feel the price I paid for it they should be obliged to fix it, if i have the problem
Canon Inc. is a global brand and has seen surge in popularity because of the rising customer interest in the consumer, office, and industrial solutions provided by the company. Despite economic slowdown and low consumer confidence in U.S. and Europe, customers continue to buy canon products over the period of time.
What are you trying to say Alex?
