Legal Adobe CS2 Suite for FREE? April Came Early?

When I read "Download Adobe Creative Suite 2 For Free"  in 43rumors.com this morning,
I thought April 1 came early!

When I announced what I found to my colleagues, they thought I was joking; but their skepticism turned to excitement and we were all wondering why Adobe do that!

No doubt their CS2 Creative Suite is OLD, but it is still a very powerful software suite to reckon with!

We have been using the same suite for years at work and it cope whatever we want it to do beautifully!

I know, I know; Adobe's latest is the vastly "bloated" CS6, but do we REALLY need all that bell and whistles?  ;)

Just to make sure Adobe meant what they offered, I clicked on the download link...

THE LINK IS DOWN!!

Friends in FaceBook were saying that Adobe has change their mind, yada; yada..

Here is the good news, I test the download link again just now and presto it work! :)

See? I kid you not!!  ALL the Creative Suites extras with all the serial numbers! Extras that even our CS2 Suites (which we paid $$$$ for) DO NOT HAVE!

Best part is, THEY ARE FREE and THEY ARE LEGAL!

So what are you waiting for?

GO AND GRAB ALL OF THEM!

BEFORE ADOBE CHANGE THEIR MIND!  ;)

LATEST!!

UPDATE: Lots of confusion out there, but it appears Adobe is not giving away free copies of Creative Suite 2 (CS2) as we reported earlier.

After IR and many other sites shared news that Adobe was letting users have free downloads of the 2005 software package, which includes an old version of Photoshop, Adobe scientist Dov Isaacs stepped in to say it was all a misunderstanding.
Here's what Issacs wrote on Adobe's community forum following the reports.
"On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated ...

You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!

What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don't require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See <http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1114930>.

You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!"
